Etihad Crystal Cargo, a division of the United Arab Emirates national airline Etihad Airways, has introduced self-handling in Thailand, aimed at expanding its presence in the Far East cargo market.
Effective from Wednesday, a seven-man local Etihad team has taken sole charge of all cargo sales and customer services that had been carried out by its local cargo general sales agent, United Kargo Kare, since 2004.
Thailand is the second largest market in Far East for Etihad Crystal Cargo, carrying an average of 1,000 tonnes between Thailand and Abu Dhabi each month, up 30% from 2007.
