Police seize 35,000 counterfeit watches

KING-OUA LAOHONG

The Department of Special Investigation (DSI) has seized more than 35,000 counterfeit leading-brand watches after spending three months investigating the racket.

Hundreds of counterfeit watches are displayed at the Department of Special Investigation.A total of 35,000 fake watches worth 10 million baht were seized in Bangkok and Samut Sakhon yesterday. JETJARASNARANONG.

The haul follows raids on the Grand China Princess hotel, near Yaowarat road, and two houses in Bang Kae district and Samut Sakhon's Krathum Baen district.

The fake watches were worth an estimated 10 million baht, police said.

Deputy DSI chief Pol Col Suchart Wong-ananchai said police also seized other fake items in the raids, including music players imported from China.

Porn Somboon was arrested on charges of possessing the items with intent to sell. Police are looking for four other suspects in the gang.

The counterfeit goods were to be sold at the Klong Thom flea market, according to the investigators.
