Tukta quest

KITTIPONG THONGSOMBAT

Tukta Sor Ratana will challenge WBC female atomweight champion Momo Koseki in Japan on December 8, promoter Preeyakorn Rattanasuban said yesterday.

The fight, to be held at Korankuen Hall in Tokyo, is an attempt by Preeyakorn's camp to reclaim the belt after Winyu Paradorngym lost to Japanese Momo in August.

"We have two options and Tukta will take one of them." said Preeyakorn.

"If she cannot win, I will try to bring Momo to defend against Winyu in Bangkok."

Twenty-five year-old Winyu controversially lost her 102-pound belt to Momo in her first defence following a clash of heads in the second round in Japan.

Tukta, aged 24, has a 2-4-1 record while Momo's ledger is 6-2.
