The National Counter Corruption Commission (NCCC) has concluded that the complaint filed by 20 Democrat MPs against three senior police officers, alleging that they had ordered the operations against anti-government demonstrators on Oct 7, was well grounded, said NCCC spokesman Klanarong Chanthik.
The three senior police officers are national police chief Pol Gen Patcharawat Wongsuwan, Metropolitan Police Bureau commissioner Pol Lt Gen Suchart Muankaew and Deputy Metropolitan Police chief Pol Maj-Gen Amnuay Nimmano.
Mr Klanarong said the 20 Democrat MPs initially accused five high-ranking officers of overreacting to the situation and using excessive force in the operation.
The two other accused officials are Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat and deputy police chief Pol Gen Jongrak Juthanont.
The NCCC has appointed a sub-panel headed by commissioner Vicha Mahakhun to look into the allegation against the three senior police officers, said Mr Klanarong.
