| Mr. James P. Kelly - Managing Director |
In 1889, the Kiam Hua Heng Company was appointed the distributor of Singer sewing machines in Siam. In 1905, the company was operating under the name of Singer Sewing Machine Co., Ltd., as a branch of the United States headquarters. The sewing machine quickly became popular. In 1957, Singer began to develop and expand its market with top-quality electrical appliances – the refrigerator being its first product. Other products soon followed: radios, television sets, gas stoves, washing machines, video cassette players, vacuum cleaners and audio equipment. In 1969, Singer Sewing Machines Co., Ltd. changed its name to Singer Thailand Co., Ltd., before being listed on The Stock Exchange of Thailand on 28 June 1984.
Singer is a leading retailer in home electrical appliances with 289 retail outlets and 6,400 sales agents nationwide, offering a full range of services.
