Mr. Suk Min Chung - Managing Director

Supported by Samsung Electronics (Korea), the company has built a state-of-the-art production facility in Sri Racha Industrial Park. The company's operations in Thailand form an integral part of Samsung’s global strategic vision. Identified by Samsung as a key developing market, Thailand has been chosen as the company's major manufacturing hub for global exports of washing machines, air-conditioners, refrigerators, colour TVs and colour monitors.

Samsung’s mission is to be a Digital-e Company, where innovative digital products and the use of online processes make it a leader of the digital convergence revolution. Samsung has been restructuring its business portfolio in order to achieve this goal.

The company focuses on four strategic business areas, namely: Home, Mobile, Office, and Core Components. At the same time, the number of R&D and marketing personnel is to be tripled over the next 10 years, to 3,000 each. SEC’s business restructuring is based on a fundamental belief in the critical role of R&D, based on consumer-driven priorities, leading to innovative yet easy-to-use digital products. Samsung’s subsidiaries spread over 47 countries worldwide, including Thailand, apply this concept to their local markets.

The Samsung brand is regarded positively by Thai consumers – as is the case in the demanding US and European markets, where Samsung products have built a reputation for innovation, quality and ease of use. Business Week’s annual InterBrand survey has ranked Samsung as the world’s 34th most valuable brand, up from 42nd place. Samsung is now the fastest growing global brand, with a 30% increase in its brand value, which currently stands at US$ 8.31 billion.
