Mr. Vatchara Noomahan - President

TECO's power generation plant at Muang District in Ratchaburi Province is strategically located, providing the company easy accessibility to essential raw material supplies from existing fuel infrastructures. It is situated far from residential communities, and is designed to have minimal impact on the environment.

Power technology

TECO is a gas-turbine, combined-cycle power plant, equipped with two sets of 224-megawatt frame 9 FA+e gas turbines, and a 252-megawatt steam turbine. The plant’s power technology provides over 54% thermal efficiency and is currently considered the most efficient power generation process available in the industry.

All the electricity generated at this plant is transmitted to EGAT’s high-voltage power line grid. The plant uses natural gas, provided via the gas pipeline system of the Petroleum Authority of Thailand. If needed, diesel can be used in place of natural gas.

TECO uses advanced American technology, with General Electric (GE) as its major equipment supplier.

A brighter future

Closely following recent developments in the industry, TECO is preparing itself for the so-called “power pool system”, a free-market mechanism which will enable private power producers to provide lower power rates to a greater number of people in the kingdom.

In line with this, TECO sees the possibility of an increased power generation capacity in the future.

Moreover, TECO will continue to maintain its competitive position in the market by ensuring the best quality and the most reasonable power rate for all.

Outstanding achievement
