Sap Jaak Khao looks at a selection of vocabulary from a timely news story in both Thai and English. It is helpful for learners of both languages

At the beginning of this month Thailand was in the news worldwide in a bad way. A Hong Kong tourist, Ms So, the news originator, claimed she was gang-raped near the parliament building. Ten days later she confessed her story was a hoax. Thai national police are taking legal action against her to set a precedent to prevent such a case from recurring.
