Thai-English vocabulary from the Thai dailies

Sap Jaak Khao looks at a selection of vocabulary from a timely news story in both Thai and English. It is helpful for learners of both languages

Just over a month after the government declared war on drugs, a rumour has arised that drug rings outside the country set a bounty on Mr Thaksin Schinawatr's head. Post Today' s news report below carries not only some interesting hearsay on the bounty but also interesting headline words. As this column has mentioned before, one popular headline writing style is to call newsmakers by nicknames. Note also the use of abbreviations in the story.
