As the first property of Dusit International, the original Dusit Thani Bangkok stood tall at a corner where Silom and Rama IV met from 1970 to 2019 and Dusit Thani Bangkok 2.0 will be reopened this September at the same location.
It's at the heart of Dusit Central Park, a landmark B46 billion mixed-use megaproject, which Dusit is building with real estate developer Central Pattana. Besides Dusit Thani Bangkok, Dusti Central Park will comprise ultra-luxury residences, Dusit Residences and Dusit Parkside, a state-of-the-art office tower, a high-end retail centre and an 11,200m² Roof Park (to rival Lumphini Park across the road perhaps?). The other components are expected to open gradually next year.

Dusit Thani Bangkok has been reconstructed to offer opulent and exclusive accommodation with 257 rooms with a minimum space of 50m², instead of the 517 rooms of its predecessor. The 39-storey hotel offers ample space with deluxe rooms and suites designed by the internationally-acclaimed André Fu Studio. Its iconic golden spire is kept at the top while handcrafted teakwood décor and various historical ornaments from the original property find a new home inside the new build.

Architects 49 International Limited and OMA Asia Hong Kong Limited are in charge of the hotel’s distinctive architecture. A singular corridor floorplan ensures every room faces Lumphini Park and guests can enjoy uninterrupted views through floor-to-ceiling windows.

The original Dusit Thani Bangkok boasted one of the city’s largest ballrooms. The hotel keeps its reputation with expansive banqueting and meeting facilities spanning more than 5,000m². The details of the F&B line-up have yet to be revealed but guests can expect collaborations with renowned chefs and a stylish multi-level rooftop bar. Full details of its wellness offerings will be revealed at a later date.
